Alibaba Cloud instance billing
Alibaba Cloud instances use a Shared Nothing architecture and are billed on a pay-as-you-go basis, charged by the hour based on actual usage. Prices shown on this page are for reference only. For binding pricing, refer to the order page in the console.
Monthly cost estimates are calculated based on 730 hours per month and are for estimation purposes only. Actual charges are available in the Billing module in the OceanBase Cloud console.
Billing formula
- Hourly instance cost = Compute node price + Storage price
- Storage price = Storage unit price ($ / GiB / hr) × Number of replicas × Storage capacity (GiB)
- Storage is backed by Alibaba Cloud ESSD cloud disks. Two performance tiers are available: PL0 and PL1, each with a different unit price.
- Two replica configurations are supported: 2-replica and 3-replica. The pricing table lists compute node prices separately for each configuration. Storage costs are calculated separately based on the selected ESSD tier (PL0 or PL1) and the provisioned storage capacity.
- Monthly cost = Hourly instance cost × 730 hours.
Billing example
The following example shows the hourly cost for a pay-as-you-go instance in the Singapore region with the 8 vCPUs 32 GiB specification, 2-replica configuration, ESSD PL1 storage, and 100 GiB of provisioned storage capacity.

Flagship Edition and Transactional instance specifications correspond to each other (for example, Flagship Edition 8 vCPUs 32 GiB corresponds to Transactional 8 vCPUs 16 GiB). Both share the same price.
